The medal as originally issued had an error. The Date September 21 is wrong. The actual date of the event was September 23.A second run of medals was struck with the correct date. Purchasers or the originals were offered a free exchange, or the opportunity to purchase the re-issue and keep the original. It is not known how many of the error date pieces were returned to the mint.
