Script: Latin

Lettering:
THE EVACUATION OF
DUNKIRK

NEVER GIVE IN, NEVER GIVE IN, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER - IN NOTHING, GREAT OR SMALL, LARGE OR PETTY - NEVER GIVE IN EXCEPT TO CONVICTIONS OF HONOR AND GOOD SENSE

Edge

Plain, shiny gold edge.

Comment

This is the fourth coin of the series made by Windsor Mint to mark the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War in 2020. There are a further five coins of this type (32g, 40mm copper coin with 24-carat gold plate), and one smaller solid 14-carat gold coin. They are held in a presentation pack, and each has a certificate of authenticity, including the specific mint number of the accompanying coin.
The reverse legend has a spelling error, missing the 'u' in 'honour', instead writing 'HONOR'.
