Ernst Schneller, a schoolteacher by training, was a member of parliament for the KPD (communist party) during the Weimar Republic until the National Socialist party was elected to power. He was imprisoned and murdered by the SS in the Sachsenhausen concentration center on October 11, 1944. Medal issued under the German democratic republic.
