Laidlaw: Issued inside a white cardboard box with the coat of arms of Cape Town on the outside of the lid.
Between 30th April and 29th July 1925 the Prince toured Southern Africa. On a Royal train provided by the South African Railways, he visiting Cape Province, the Orange Free State, Basutoland, Natal, Transvaal, Swaziland, Southern & Northern Rhodesia and the Bechuanaland Protectorate.
The Royal Mint struck 47, 104 of the 32mm medals (no breakdown in figures between Silver and Bronze) for distribution in South Africa to commemorate the Prince's visit commencing April 1925.
