Duke of Newcastle - Eton College Pelham Prize gold Medal 1833 (1893) BHM-1646 (RRR). 35mm. By. W. Wyon. E: George Armstrong 1893. Attractively accomplished with a high relief, frosted bust on the obverse and wreath surrounding a 5-line latin inscription on the reverse. Few marks and only light handling exist, giving this medal a decidedly fine appearance. Interestingly, while we have been able to trace few other survivors, an example inscribed to Matthew Piers Watt Boulton, grandson of the famous Matthew Boulton, is noted as having been sold by Spink in 2007 for £1300.
