Comment
Smirnov-1449Pyotr was the Russian Prime Minister and handled his job with ruthless efficiency. During the 1911 unveiling of a monument to Tsar Alexander II, Stolypin was attending a performance of "The Tale of Tsar Saltan" at the Kiev opera. An ex-agent of the secret police, Dmitri Bogrov, assassinated Stolypin by shooting him twice. Bogrov was hanged 10 days later.
