Casa Batlló is a modernist building designed by the architect Antoni Gaudí, leader of this movement, between 1904 and 1906. It is located on the Illa de la Discòrdia, at 43 Passeig de Gràcia in Barcelona.
The building was commissioned by Josep Batlló i Casanovas, a textile industrialist. The best-known part of the building is the facade, considered one of the architect's most original, using stone, wrought iron, glass trencadis and polychrome ceramics; Gaudí was assisted by architects Josep Maria Jujol and Joan Rubió i Bellver.
The building, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is open to the public and receives hundreds of thousands of visitors every year.
