Comment

Betts-430. 1760 Canada Subdued. Silver. 39.2mm, 334 grains. Ex: Wayte Raymond. Deep silver gray toning with intense flashes of blue and lilac along with impeccable surfaces and very few handling marks provide this medal with spectacular eye appeal. This piece is rare in silver and is among the finest examples extant. The design features a bust of George II on the obverse and a captive Canadienne at the base of a pine tree on the reverse. John Pingo's dies are an elegant homage to the Judea Capta series of ancient Rome
