Boudicca was queen of the Iceni tribe, Celtic people living in what is now Norfolk, England, during the early Roman occupation of Britain. She is most famous for leading a major uprising against the occupying Roman forces around AD 60-61. This revolt was triggered by the harsh treatment of her people following the death of her husband, King Prasutagus.
Boudicca has become a symbol of resistance against oppression, celebrated in British folklore and history for hundreds of years, and remains an iconic figure of national pride today.
