The medal was engraved by Harry-Arnold Elstrøm, who was born in Berlin on August 11, 1906 and died in Linkebeek, Belgium, on May 17, 1993 (editor's note: the same year as King Baudouin). He was a Belgian-Danish sculptor, medalist, draughtsman, painter and art teacher.
