The Medal commissioned by General Andrés de Santa Prefect Cross of Chuquisaca, with a final cost of 8,002 pesos, was minted in the Royal Mint of Potosí by the Talla Mayor Pedro Venavides.

The jewel that symbolized the recognition of the new Republic to its Liberator, was sent on June 24, 1826 to the city of Lima, where it was located Bolívar, the same one that was accompanied by a note from Marshal Antonio José de Sucre.
