Issued to honor Christian Christianovich Giel on the 25th Anniversary as a promoter of numismatics. Giel is a storied figure in Russian numismatics. He was the custodian of the Hermitage coin cabinet, as well as a publisher of numerous studies, many of which involved ancient coins.
