Comment
In 1829, King Friedrich Wilhelm III (1770-1840) conferred upon the Russian Grad Duke and Zarewich Alexander II Nicolajewich, the future Emperor Alexander II (1818-1881) the dignity of a commander-in-chief of the 3rd Prussian Regiment of Ulans (later: 1. Brandenburgisches Ulanen-Regiment "Kaiser Alexander von RuЯland" Nr. 3). In occasion of his 50 years jubilee in this capacity he created this medal in 1879, of which according to Diakov (DIA5 page 228) only 656 pieces were struck in silver to be conferred upon the N.C.O.s and men of the said regiment.Price
