Two women in profile, representing Agriculture, lean against the central circle, which contains the legend in 4 lines, the 1st surrounding the others. They hold a laurel wreath above a beehive at the top of the circle. Below the circle, on either side, two horns of plenty pour fruit.

Medal-maker Laurent Hart (1810-1860) started his business in Rue Thérésienne 4, Brussels, but moved to Galerie Royale 6 in 1847, where the workshop remained until 1974. It's not uncommon to find medals signed L. Hart that were struck long after his death. This is due to the fact that the company did not have a dedicated medallist for over 100 years, which explains the continuous reuse of old dies. Various artists such as Elisa Beetz-Charpentier (1875-1949), Jacques Marin (1877-1950) and Franz Van Leemputten (1850-1914) used this workshop.

In ancient Rome, a comice was an assembly of the people. Today, comices agricoles are meetings of the farmers of a region for the development of agriculture.
Beauraing (in Walloon Biarin) is a French-speaking town in Belgium, located in the Walloon region in the province of Namur. Beauraing is at the heart of the Condroz, an agricultural region. The town is dedicated to the Marian cult, following apparitions of the Virgin Mary in 1933. Many religious medals depict Beauraing's "Virgin of the Golden Heart".
