[1] This token was used in ITU (Istanbul Technical University) school canteens from 1980 to 2015. With the decision taken by the ITU Health, Culture and Sports Department on January 19, 2015, the use of tokens in cafeterias ended, and ITU Student ID cards started to be used.[2] Istanbul Technical University (Turkish: İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi, commonly referred to as ITU) is an international technical university located in Istanbul, Turkey. It is the world's third-oldest technical university dedicated to engineering sciences as well as social sciences recently, and is one of the most prominent educational institutions in Turkey. ITU was founded in 1773 by Sultan Mustafa III during the Ottoman Empire.
