Comment

Rembert Dodoens (R. Dodonée) was a Flemish botanist and physician born in 1517 in Mechelen and died in 1585 in Leiden.
He is the author of a famous work on medicinal plants, an edition in Flemish, under the title Cruydeboeck, which appeared in 1554 and was translated into French three years later by Charles de l'Écluse (1526-1609), another Flemish botanist, under the title Histoire des plantes.
