Comment

The Molière fountain, or Monument à Molière, is a fountain located in the 1st arrondissement of Paris, on Place Mireille, at the corner of Rue Molière and Rue de Richelieu. It has not yet been classified as a historic monument.
In 1838, a house was demolished opposite the one where Molière died. A fountain topped by a nymph statue was to be built in the vacant space.
Built in 1844, this monument was the work of several sculptors under the direction of architect Louis Tullius Joachim Visconti and contractor Antoine Vivenel, who also created the fountain on Place Saint-Sulpice (wikipedia).
