Comment
This type of medal appears to be relatively recent, dating from the mid-twentieth century; in fact, it was an advertising medal for the magazine "Connaissances actuelles", offered to its customers in 1983 to mark the tercentenary of Colbert's death. The monogram on the reverse, MHSP, corresponds to the manufacturer, the "Manufacture Historique de Soldats de plombs".
Labor omnia vincit improbus (or just Labor omnia vincit) is a Latin locution meaning "hard work gets the better of everything".
