Medal probably made around 1750. Maurice de Saxe or Hermann Moritz von Sachsen (28 October 1696 – 20 November 1750) was illegitimate son of Polish King Augustus II the Strong and Count of Saxony, later entering French service where became a Marshal and even Marshal General of France. He is best known for his decisive victory at the Battle of Fontenoy.
