The National Lottery, created by the Grand Ducal decree of July 13, 1945, entrusted its organization from the outset to the Oeuvre Nationale de Secours Grande-Duchesse Charlotte. This decree made all other public lotteries illegal in Luxembourg. The National Lottery's annual turnover exceeds 100 million euros, and net income exceeds 20 million euros. The proceeds of the National Lottery are redistributed by l'Oeuvre to organizations in the social, cultural, environmental and sports sectors.
