Comment

Le Petit Provençal is a former regional daily newspaper for Marseille and southeastern France, published between 1880 (5th year) and 1944 (69th year).
Geoffroy Velten (1831-1915), a Lutheran and Alsatian businessman based in Marseille, and Jean-Baptiste-Amable Chanot (1855-1920) lawyer and mayor of Marseille, were behind the creation of La Jeune République, the first version of Le Petit Provençal.
