This is an excerpt from his Obituary I found on line from November 12th 2011He was a graduate of the University of South Carolina. Mr. Studebaker was a retired Master Sergeant with the U.S. Marine Corp., having served for 26 years. He was a WWII, Korean War, and Vietnam War Veteran. Master Sergeant Studebaker was a decorated Veteran, having received numerous medals and awards, including 2 Purple Hearts. Following his military career, he became a teacher in Beaufort, SC., where taught history for many years. Mr. Studebaker was a collector of coins, tokens, and military medals.
I believe he had these tokens made to hand out to friends.
