The commune of Saint-Lary-Soulan is located in the Hautes-Pyrénées department, in the Occitanie region, and borders on Spain (Aragon).By merging with the former commune of Saint-Lary, the former commune of Soulan forms an exclave of the current commune, founded on January 1, 1964. The territory of Saint-Lary-Soulan is thus made up of two landlocked parts, separated by around one kilometer by the communes of Vignec (to the north of the separation) and Cadeilhan-Trachère (to the south): to the west of this separation and at altitude, the former very rural commune of Soulan, where the commune's ski area is located; to the east and in the valley, the former commune of Saint-Lary, where the larger village with its spa facilities is located. https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint-Lary-Soulan
