In its call for tenders sent to 135 manufacturers in July 1940, the specifications called for a rectangular body, four-wheel drive, a folding windscreen, low beam and long-range headlights, a weight of 590 kg and the capacity to carry 227 kg (including a machine gun and a three-man crew, hence the specification of three bucket seats), a ground clearance of 16 cm and a height of less than 914 mm, a wheelbase of 1.5 m and a wheelbase of 1.5 m.(including a machine gun and a crew of three men, hence the specification of three bucket seats), a ground clearance of 16 cm and a height of less than 914 mm, a wheelbase of less than 1,905 mm and a very narrow track of 1.494 meters allowing to use, dismantled tires, the railroad tracks.
