Georges Brassens, born on October 22, 1921 in Sète (Hérault) and died on October 29, 1981 in Saint-Gély-du-Fesc (Hérault), was a French singer-songwriter.Author of over two hundred songs - including Chanson pour l'Auvergnat, La Mauvaise Réputation, Le Gorille, Les Amoureux des bancs publics, Les Copains d'abord, Supplique pour être enterré à la plage de Sète, Les Trompettes de la renommée, etc. - he also set poems to music. - He also set to music poems by François Villon, Victor Hugo, Paul Verlaine, Francis Jammes, Paul Fort, Antoine Pol, Théodore de Banville and Louis Aragon.
