The château was unoccupied and already in a state of disrepair by the mid-18th century. During the French Revolution, the château was used as a stone quarry. Its romantic appearance even led to it being damaged by treasure hunters in 1862. In 1920, it was purchased by Henri Dupuy-Mazuel, film director and writer. On his death in 1994, his heirs donated the château to the Saissac town council. https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ch%C3%A2teau_de_SaissacPrice
