Mont-Saint-Éloi Abbey, founded by Saint Vindicien, was destroyed following its sale as national property in 1793. It was home to a community of canons regular of the rule of Saint Augustine, who were active in the field of literature. The towers still standing on the site were the facade of the abbey church, rebuilt in the 18th century and then demolished in the early 19th century and during the First World War. https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abbaye_du_Mont-Saint-%C3%89loi
