Beauval was often the first zoo in France to present certain animals, and this has contributed to its reputation and development. In the 1990's, for example, it was the first to introduce leucic fawns, white tigers and white lions. Even today, several of the species presented are rare in France, such as the okapi, manatee and Indian rhinoceros, and even unique in France, such as the giant panda, koala, Goodfellow's dendrolague and Tasmanian devil. In 2017, ZooParc de Beauval became the first park in France, and the fourth in Europe, to successfully breed the giant panda. https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/ZooParc_de_Beauval
