The astronomical clock was built between 1865 and 1868 at the request of Beauvais bishop Joseph-Armand Gignoux by Auguste-Lucien Vérité, the famous master clockmaker from Beauvais (designer of the Besançon Astronomical Clock between 1857 and 1862).

It was first presented at the Palais de l'Industrie in 1869, before being placed in the Chapelle du Saint-Sacrement in the north transept of Beauvais Cathedral in 1876. https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horloge_astronomique_de_Beauvais
