The PACCARD Foundry is over two centuries old, having been founded by Antoine PACCARD in 1796. At that time, the commune of Quintal (Haute-Savoie) asked the bishopric for a priest for its parish, to which the bishop replied "you will have a priest when you have a bell in your bell tower". The commune then turned to a master founder from Carouge, near Geneva, named Jean-Baptiste PITTON. In those days, bells were still cast by hand. When Jean-Baptiste PITTON needed an apprentice, the commune's syndic got together and Antoine PACCARD, founder of the company, completed his apprenticeship and created the Fonderie de Quintal. https://musee-paccard. com/Gules, a cross argent. https://armorialdefrance.fr/page_region.php?region=121
