Chablais is a former possession of the County of Savoy, before becoming a province of the Duchy of Savoy, with Thonon-les-Bains as its historic capital. This historic region is currently divided into three territories, the Chablais Savoyard, the Chablais Valaisan and the Chablais Vaudois, and depends on two countries: France (Haute-Savoie department) and Switzerland (Valais and Vaud cantons). Bordering the south shore of Lake Geneva, the region is dominated by the Alps. https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/ChablaisBlazon of the province of Chablais: Argent semé de billets de sable au lion de sable armé et lampassé de gueules.
