Comment
This token is struck by Pichard Balme in Saumur, a subsidiary of Arthus Bertrand since its takeover in 1999.
The Hermione was a French warship in service from 1779 to 1793. She is a 12-gun frigate (in reference to the caliber of her guns) carrying 26 12-pounder guns and 8 additional 6-pounder guns. In naval jargon, she is known as a "26-gun frigate", although she originally carried 34 guns. She is one of the Concorde class of frigates, built from 1777 onwards at the Rochefort arsenal. https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hermione_(1779)
