Comment

Pierre Comeau was a king's counselor and criminal lieutenant-general in the bailliage. He was mayor for four years: 1643 - 1644 and 1644 - 1645, then 1657 - 1658 and 1658 - 1659. This token was minted on the occasion of Pierre Comeau's third magistracy, which gave him the opportunity to wink at his coat of arms: "as many years (as mayor) as stars (on his shield)".
