Comment

The Le Compasseur family appears to have originated in Elne, Roussillon, and was established in Burgundy as early as 1474. Bénigne Le Compasseur, Seigneur de Courtivron and Clerk to the Requests of the Palace, was the brother of Claude Le Compasseur, Councillor to the Burgundy Parliament and then State Councillor in 1656.
