The Latin legend on the reverse alludes to the expected future birth of a male heir from the Dauphin couple of France.
Historical background:
Marie-Josèphe de Saxe was born in 1731, the daughter of Augustus III of Saxony, King of Poland. Niece of Marshal de Saxe, she married Dauphin Louis, widower of Marie-Thérèse, on February 9, 1747. She died of turberculosis in 1767, two years after her husband, the Dauphin Louis de France, eldest son of Louis XV.
