Comment

The campaign was brilliant, and led to the Peace of Nijmegen. The Elect immediately went to Paris, to Jean-Baptiste Dufour, former cutter of the King's Mint, and ordered a token bearing an olive tree laden with many fruits, with a motto meaning: I have imposed peace on my enemies, you will enjoy its golden fruits. To complete the allusion, all silver tokens, as well as copper ones, were to be gilded.
