The female allegory of Burgundy, lying down, holding a shield with a St. Andrew's cross in her left hand, and holding out her hand to the king, standing, facing right, who is helping her up.

Script: Latin

Lettering: • TE • STANTE • RESVRGAM •

Unabridged legend: Te stante, resurgam.

Comment

The law motto recalls the words of the First President and the Bishop of Autun at the opening of the States of Burgundy: "The three Orders will be faithful". The law crown recalls the capture of Seurre, where the Frondeurs had taken refuge: in April 1650, Louis XIV went in person to the siege of Seurre, rallied to the Fronde, and captured a few days later.
