Reverse

The province of Burgundy standing on the right, offering a laurel wreath to the young king standing on the left; at the back, a city; at the exergue, a fleuron.

Script: Latin

Lettering: • LIBERATORI • DEBITAM • REPENDO

Unabridged legend: Liberatori debitam rependo.

Comment

The Frondeurs took refuge in Seurre once again when they learned of the Prince de Condé's release. During the latter's exile in Guyenne, the town was taken by d'Épernon, who had the fortifications razed to the ground. The king was presented as the liberator of the province of Burgundy.
