Jacques Charette has been mayor since July 3, 1668 and continued in 1669. He was a squire, Sieur de Montbert, King's Councillor, Seneschal of Nantes, then First President of the Chambre des Comptes. His coat of arms bears Argent, a lion Sable, armed and langued Gules, between in base three cans Sable beaked and pattéed Gules.
