Referenced 2b by Thomas C. DAY in his catalog "CASINO TOKENS OF MONTE-CARLO".This token was used to pay for drinks inside the Cercle de Monaco.
Created for the Casino on the arrival of François Blanc, this undated token was struck by the Monnaie de Paris in May 1863, to avoid the inconvenience of Honoré V's coins.
It prefigures the Charles III issues designed by Ponscarne in 1874, and explains the manufacturing monopoly granted to the Monnaie de Paris by the Franco-Monegasque convention of November 9, 1865 (article 17).
The weight of this token varies between 6.75g and 7g.
