In 2022, Smiley celebrates five decades of smiles and optimism.The iconic round yellow figure was born on January 1, 1972 in France. Journalist Franklin Loufrani used the infectious smile in the France-Soir newspaper to highlight stories that lifted French spirits. The operation, dubbed "Prenez le temps de sourire" ("Take the time to smile"), was an immediate success.
In 1996, the logo was relaunched in a 3D version, and new expressions were added. From smiley faces to emoticons, the smile now comes in all shapes and sizes. The smile is exported and becomes an ambassador of good humor!
This very limited edition blister pack celebrates the 50th anniversary of the round, yellow smile.
