Comment

In 1849, the Bourgeoisie of Neuchâtel decided to build a girls' college, as they were not allowed to attend the Latin College at that time. The chosen location for this building was the former Terreaux Cemetery. The college was completed in 1853 after two years of construction and inaugurated on November 15 of the same year (Jelmini, 2011). The building now houses the Neuchâtel Museum of Natural History.
