Minister of the Navy, he published his memoirs in 1792 under the title Mémoires du comte de Maurepas, ministre de la marine, by Jean-Frédéric Phélypeaux Maurepas held the position of Minister of the Navy from August 16, 1723 to April 23, 1749.
