The Franklin Mint issued one or more medals for the holiday season starting in 1965. Silver and gold proofs of these medals are minted for collectors, while specimens in other metals, encased in special gift and greeting cards. Each card opened like a traditional greeting card. Between 1966 - 1969 cards were fitted with an easel stand and did not open.
