The Long Brick Store was located on the east bank of the Quinnipiac River in Fair Haven, Connecticut. Fair Haven was a major regional center for dealing, processing, and importing oysters at the time. It was later incorporated into New Haven, CT. Several businesses were part of the Long Brick Store (or row) which was at 28-30 East Grand Avenue. Different businesses are on each side of this token and were both in business in 1836. HT-580A is the more common reeded edge type, while HT-580 is rare and has a plain edgeFrom obituary of Edward E. Hall in the New Haven Morning Journal and Courier; New Haven, CT. 26 March 1894
