Rare (1835) W. Field Token, R.7, XF45New York (1835) NY HT-269, R.7, W. Field, New York, NY, A rare token struck in copper and measuring 28mm in diameter. The obverse features a top hat at the center with New York beneath. A circular legend reads: W. Field 148 Chatham Corner Of Mulberry St. A smiling beaver is at the center of the reverse and is circled by: Manufacturer Of Hats Caps & Fancy Furs. For future identification, a planchet crack extends inward from 12 o'clock on the reverse, and the corresponding location on the obverse. Otherwise, the surfaces are smooth and a medium brown color. An important opportunity for the token specialist.
