This dry goods business issued a number of Hard Times (HT-252 to HT-259) and merchant tokens with different names and addresses depending on when they were issued. HT-259 was made 1840-1844. There are two most common types. HT-259 has a diameter of 27.3 mm, is gilt brass and is R-6 (13-30 known). HT-259A has a smaller diameter, is brass and is R-5 (31-75 known).New York Daily Tribune, 27 March 1843
