Green Duck Co., originally Green Duck Corporation, the manufacturer of this token, has a space in several museums. They made many political buttons. During World War II, Green Duck supplied the U.S. Army's 101st and 82nd Airborne Divisions with metal "crickets" with which they signaled each other on the D-Day landing and afterward. The company was started in 1906 by George G. Greenburg and Harvey Ducgheisel. Using the first syllable in each name, they created the company name. It sold a couple times and in 1975 moved to Mississippi, then sold to a British company in 1996 that closed the company in 2004.
