The token is a modern replica of tokens, as used in 19th century at the geographical range of Železniki. Currency was in a form of a pressed metal plate, usually marked with initials of trader, mine owner or other type of business owner. Workers were paid in such tokens, by which they were forced to buy food and other essentials at the token issuer. This token marks the 50th anniversary of Železniki museum and 40th anniversary of Železniki museum society, which at the time was being led by Tomaž Weiffenbach. Token was minted/pressed in January of 2024 in the Železniki museum.
