The Medal has been obviously issued somewhere in emigration, not in the People's Republic of Hungary. The Hungarian Freedom Monument was erected in Budapest Park on the shores of Lake Ontario in Toronto in 1966 to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution and freedom struggle.
